Experienced Entrepreneurs and Operators
Brent Timmerman // Principal
An engineer by background Brent owned and grew a construction business from 15 to 45 employees before transitioning ownership. He also led the formation of a venture that financed energy efficient upgrades. Later, he received an MBA focussed on entrepreneurship and mid-market finance from the Univ. of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. While at Rotman he joined Setter (acquired by Thumbtack), a venture backed home services technology business, where he led go-to-market for a home warranty program in the company’s Toronto and San Francisco markets. With his business partner Jody at Gazelle, a one year search resulted in the acquisition of Pacific West Mechanical, a best-in-market multi-family and commercial mechanical services provider based in Vancouver BC, Canada.
Brent enjoys building great teams in trade related businesses and then sequencing the people growth with sales. He works in the People and Sales functions at Pacific West. Brent lives in Vancouver with his wife and two young children and is an avid runner and hockey player.
Jody Law // Principal
Also an engineer by background, Jody spent the early part of his career optimizing operations for major corporations (BC Hydro, Goldman Sachs) where he led and executed company-wide strategic initiatives aimed at reducing costs and mitigating risks. He received an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business focused on finance and operations and, more recently, led teams that developed a fleet of wind farms that grew his company’s market share from 3% to 12%, while the market itself grew by a factor of 2.3x. With Brent at Gazelle Capital, Jody closed the acquisition of Pacific West Mechanical in 2022.
Jody leads the Accounting and Administrative functions at Pacific West and has a drive for working with teams to develop their internal processes and to seek ways to improve workflows that benefit both the company and its customers. He lives in Vancouver with his wife and two young children and is looking forward to getting them all out on the ski hill much more often.
